Pickle Booty is a next-gen short-form social media platform that heavily focuses on user anonymity, privacy, and free speech.
Our Story
Why Pickle Booty? Most, if not all, existing social platforms sell data, collect an obsessive amount of data from users, then sell that data to the highest bidder. Pickle Booty doesn’t collect personal information like a name or address. We only ask for them when we need them, like when shipping a product or creating a shop. All we ask from users when signing up is a phone number and email. We autogenerate a name for you to use, or you can add your own. We also cycle your algorithm, and your app usage data isn’t really kept past approximately 100-150 posts you’ve interacted with.
Oh, nevermind, you meant why we chose the NAME Pickle Booty. We were struggling to come up with a business name for our app. My wife and I had searched for days with no luck. All domains were taken for anything we could think of. When we asked our middle child what she thought the name should be, she said “Pickle Booty”. We laughed and thought it was funny and catchy enough to roll with. When we asked her why we should name it Pickle Booty she said “I like pickles and booties are funny.”
Who we are
Chris is the Co-Founder and Technologist behind Pickle Booty. He has been a technologist for more than 10 years working on various software projects, apps, and websites. He received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Texas at Tyler and his Master of Political Management from The George Washington University.
Morgan is a Co-Founder and Manager of all things Pickle Booty. She handles all administrative functions, plans future ideas and features, content creation, community relations, and marketing. She has been a teacher for Keller ISD for the past 8 years and an educator for 13 years. She is a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a STEM focus from the University of Texas at Tyler.
The girls are the creator of the name (Pickle Booty), the artwork (Captain Pickle in our logo, and more holiday backgrounds and additions to come) and fulfilling orders in the Pickle Booty shop. They get really excited when they see people posting, liking, commenting, and sharing content on Pickle Booty.
